Randly Dating App Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 5 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ZA ALB LTD ("ZA ALB LTD", "Randly", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you access or use the Randly Dating App ("Randly", the "App", or the "Service").
1. Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR"), the Data Protection Act 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") where applicable, and Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"), the data controller responsible for your personal data is:

In-app support: General → App Settings → Support
Application: Randly Dating App
2. Eligibility and Age Requirement
Randly is intended exclusively for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We ask for your date of birth during registration and do not allow accounts for users under 18. If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may suspend or terminate the account, request age verification and delete associated personal data where appropriate.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account and Login Information

- Email address and/or telephone number
- Date of birth and age

- Connected devices and active sessions, which you can view and sign out of in the App
3.2 Information from Google and Facebook Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive from that provider the information you authorise it to share, typically your name, email address, profile picture and a unique account identifier. We do not receive your Google or Facebook password and do not post to your accounts.
3.3 Profile Information
- Profile photographs (up to 10) and, where available, videos
- Biography, occupation and education
- Height, languages, interests and hobbies (interest tags)
- Relationship intentions ("looking for") and dating preferences, including the genders you are interested in, age range, maximum distance and other discovery filters
- Lifestyle information such as smoking, drinking, workout, pets, and family or children plans
- Zodiac sign
- Religion or beliefs, and faith-compatibility filters (optional, see Section 4)
- Health information you choose to add (optional, see Section 4)
- Social media handles you choose to add (Instagram, TikTok and/or WhatsApp number)

- Use of boosts and other premium features
- Features used, screens viewed, searches and filters applied, session times
3.6 Purchases and Virtual Items
Payments are processed by Google Play (and, where available, the Apple App Store). We do not receive or store your full card details. We receive and keep transaction and order IDs, product information, purchase date, subscription status, renewal and expiry information, country and currency. We also keep records of your coin balance and how virtual items are used (for example sending gifts, unlocking stories or social handles, boosts and super likes).
3.7 Support Requests
When you contact us through the in-app support form we collect the category, subject, message, preferred support language, the email address you give us for replies and any screenshots you attach. If you leave the "Include device information" option enabled, we also receive your app version, device model, operating system version, device language and a pseudonymous crash-report identifier so that we can match your request with technical diagnostics. Screenshots are stored in private storage that is only accessible to authorised support staff.
3.8 Device, Technical and Diagnostic Information
- IP address, device model, operating system and version, app version, language and region
- Push notification tokens
- Network type and connection information
- Crash reports and diagnostics: when the App crashes or encounters an error, our crash-reporting provider (Firebase Crashlytics) receives technical details such as the error, the screen in use, device state (for example memory and network type) and a pseudonymous identifier derived from your User ID. Crash reports do not include your messages, photos, exact location or contact details.
- Security logs used to detect fraud and abuse
4. Sensitive Information
Some information on a dating app can reveal "special category data" under the UK GDPR and GDPR, or "sensitive personal data" under KVKK:
- Sex life or sexual orientation, which may be inferred from your gender and the genders you are interested in;
- Religious or philosophical beliefs, if you add religion or use faith filters;
- Health information, if you choose to add health-related information to your profile;
Providing religion and health information is optional. We process sensitive information only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when you add it to your profile or set the related preference. You can withdraw consent at any time by removing the information from your profile; this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal. Gender and gender preference are needed to provide the core matching service; if you do not wish this information to be processed, you should not use Randly.
5. Location Information
If you allow Randly to access your device location, we collect:
- Latitude and longitude, and the time your location was last updated
- Your city or region
We use location to show you people nearby, calculate approximate distance, apply your maximum distance filter, improve recommendations and detect suspicious activity. Other users never see your exact coordinates; they may see an approximate distance and your city.
If you use Travel Mode or manually choose a different discovery location, we store the destination country and city, trip dates, or the location you selected, and use it instead of your device location for discovery while it is active.
You can turn off location access at any time in your device settings. Some discovery features may not work correctly without location.
6. How Features Use Your Data
6.1 Discovery, Likes and Matches
We use your profile, preferences, location and activity to show you profiles and to show your profile to others. When two users like each other, a match is created and messaging becomes available. Users who have liked you may appear in your "Likes" list; depending on your subscription, their photos may be shown blurred until you upgrade.
6.2 Profile Visitors
When you view another user's profile, that user may be able to see that you visited their profile and when.
6.3 Messaging
Messages are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and synchronised across your devices. Messages are protected in transit but are not end-to-end encrypted; authorised staff may access them only where necessary to investigate a report, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with law. Depending on your chat privacy settings, other users may see when you were last online and whether you have read their messages.
6.4 Stories
Stories you publish are visible to other users according to the privacy setting you choose and expire after a set period. Some stories may require coins or a premium subscription to view; in that case a short preview or a blurred thumbnail may be shown first. We record who viewed, liked or unlocked your stories.
6.5 Social Handles
If you add Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp details to your profile, other users may be able to unlock and view them, for example by spending coins. A WhatsApp entry is your phone number; once another user has seen it we cannot control how they use it. Only add social handles you are comfortable sharing, and you can remove them at any time.
6.6 Push Notifications
With your permission, we send notifications about new matches, messages, likes, profile visits, account security and, where permitted, offers. You can turn notifications off in the App or in your device settings.
7. Information Visible to Other Users
Your profile is designed to be seen by other Randly users. Depending on your settings, others may see your display name, age, photographs and videos, biography, approximate distance, city, occupation, education, interests, languages, relationship intentions, lifestyle information, zodiac sign, religion (if added), stories, and unlocked social handles. Other users may also see that you liked them, visited their profile, or are online. Information you share in messages can be seen by the recipient, who may save or share it outside Randly. Please think carefully before sharing personal details.
8. Automated Processing, Matching and Moderation
We use automated systems to:
- Rank and recommend profiles, based on factors such as age, gender preferences, distance, relationship intentions, interests, profile completeness, activity, likes, passes, matches, blocks, reports and active boosts.
- Check uploaded images for adult, racy or violent content using an automated image analysis service (Google Cloud Vision). Images flagged by this check may be restricted or reviewed by our team.
- Detect fraud, spam and abuse, including suspicious login patterns, rate limits and repeated reports.
Automated systems may lead to content being hidden or an account being restricted. Decisions that significantly affect you, such as permanently banning an account, are reviewed by a person. You can ask for an explanation or appeal a decision by contacting support@randlyapp.com or through in-app support.
9. Why We Use Your Information and Legal Bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR / GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Create and manage your account, authenticate you, keep you signed in | Contract |
| Create and display your profile, discovery, matching, messaging, stories | Contract |
| Use location to show nearby users and distance | Consent (device permission) and contract |
| Process sensitive information you choose to add (religion, health) and gender preference | Explicit consent |
| Process purchases, subscriptions and virtual items | Contract; legal obligation (financial records) |
| Provide customer support | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Verify age, prevent fake accounts, fraud, spam and abuse; moderate content; handle reports | Legitimate interests (keeping users safe); legal obligation |
| Crash reporting, diagnostics, security logs | Legitimate interests (a stable and secure service) |
| Analytics to understand and improve the App | Legitimate interests or consent where required |
| Service and security notifications | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Marketing notifications and emails | Consent (you can opt out at any time) |
| Respond to legal requests and enforce our Terms | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
Under KVKK, the corresponding legal grounds are performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest and, for sensitive data and transfers abroad where required, your explicit consent.
10. Device Permissions
Randly asks for the following permissions only when you use the related feature:
- Location – nearby discovery and distance.
- Camera – taking profile photos and stories.
- Microphone – recording voice messages.
- Photos and media – choosing photos for your profile, stories, chat or support requests. Randly uses the system photo picker where possible, so it only accesses the items you select.
- Notifications – match, message and account alerts.
You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
11. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We share personal data only as described below.
11.1 Service providers (processors)
These providers process data on our behalf, under contract and only as we instruct:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) | Servers and databases that run Randly | All data stored by the Service |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (R2 storage and CDN) | Storing and delivering photos, videos and attachments | Uploaded media, IP address |
| Google LLC – Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting and diagnostics | Crash data, device information, pseudonymous ID |
| Google LLC – Firebase Analytics | App usage analytics | Usage events, device information, app instance ID |
| Google LLC – Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivering push notifications | Push token, notification content |
| OneSignal, Inc. | Push notification delivery and management | Push token, device information, User ID |
| Google LLC – Google Cloud Vision | Automated image safety checks | Uploaded images |
| Google LLC (Google Workspace / Gmail) | Sending verification, account and support emails | Email address, email content |
11.2 Independent third parties
- Google Play / Apple App Store process payments under their own privacy policies.
- Google and Meta (Facebook), if you choose to sign in with them, process your sign-in under their own privacy policies.
11.3 Other disclosures
- Other users, as described in Section 7.
- Authorities and legal requests, where required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the safety of any person, including reporting child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, under confidentiality.
- Business transfers, if ZA ALB LTD is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets; we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
12. International Data Transfers
ZA ALB LTD is established in the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers process data in other countries, including the European Economic Area and the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA to a country without an adequacy decision, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. For users in Türkiye, transfers abroad are carried out in accordance with Article 9 of KVKK. You can request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.
13. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Most information is kept for as long as your account is active, because it is needed to provide the Service. The table below explains how long each type of information is kept:
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account, profile, photos, preferences, likes, matches and profile visits | For as long as your account is active. Deleted or anonymised within 30 days after you delete your account |
| Messages | For as long as your account is active. After account deletion, messages are deleted or anonymised within 30 days; recipients may still see that a message came from a deleted user |
| Stories | Visible to others until they expire or you delete them; afterwards kept only for as long as needed for safety and moderation, and deleted with your account |
| Exact location | Only the most recent location is kept; it is replaced each time it is updated and deleted with your account |
| Login history, sessions and security logs | For as long as your account is active, to protect your account and detect fraud; deleted with your account unless needed for an ongoing security investigation |
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) | Up to 90 days |
| Support requests and attachments | For as long as needed to resolve your request and to handle any related follow-up, complaint or legal claim |
| Reports, moderation and ban records | For as long as necessary to protect users, prevent banned users from returning and defend legal claims, including after an account is deleted |
| Purchase and transaction records | At least 6 years, as required for tax and accounting purposes |
| Backups | Removed from backups as they are routinely overwritten |
14. Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your account at any time:
- In the App: General → Account → Delete My Account.
- Without the App: follow the instructions at randlyapp.com/delete-account or email support@randlyapp.com.
When you delete your account, your profile is removed from discovery immediately and your personal data is deleted or anonymised according to Section 13, except for data we must keep for legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons. Messages you sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to, shown as coming from a deleted user.
Uninstalling the App does not delete your account and does not cancel subscriptions. Subscriptions purchased through Google Play or the App Store must be cancelled in the relevant store. Unused coins and virtual items are lost when an account is deleted.
You can also delete individual data without deleting your account, for example by removing photos, stories, profile details, social handles or religion and health information in the App.
15. Data Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), additional encryption of API responses, hashing of passwords, private storage for sensitive files such as support attachments, access controls that limit staff access to what is necessary, rate limiting and monitoring for suspicious activity. No system is completely secure; if we become aware of a data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
16. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate data (you can edit most profile data directly in the App);
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests and profiling;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects you;
- opt out of marketing communications.
To exercise these rights, email support@randlyapp.com or use in-app support. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within one month (within 30 days for KVKK requests); this may be extended where permitted by law, in which case we will tell you.
17. Regional Information
United Kingdom
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
European Economic Area
If you are in the EEA, you have the rights described in Section 16 under the GDPR and may complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Türkiye
If you are in Türkiye, you have the rights listed in Article 11 of KVKK, including the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, request information, learn the purpose of processing, know the third parties to whom data is transferred in Türkiye or abroad, request correction or deletion, object to results arising from analysis exclusively through automated systems, and claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing. You can submit requests to support@randlyapp.com and you may apply to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) if your request is rejected or not answered.
18. Advertising, Analytics and Cookies
Randly does not show third-party advertising, does not use advertising identifiers and does not share your data with advertising networks.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example which features are popular and where errors occur). Analytics data is linked to an app instance identifier rather than your name.
Our legal web pages (this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service and the account deletion page) do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
19. Children's Privacy
Randly is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe that a minor is using Randly, please report the profile in the App or contact support@randlyapp.com and we will act promptly.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Randly, our service providers or the law. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we introduce new features that involve new types of data (for example voice or video calls, live streaming or advertising), we will update this policy before those features become available. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect.
